University Statement: Franklin Fire Response
成人直播 is actively monitoring conditions on and around campus following a brush fire that swept through the Santa Monica Mountains toward the Pacific Ocean early this morning. As the winds pushed the fire toward campus, the University implemented its shelter-in-place protocol, assembling residents in the center of campus, at Payson Library and Tyler Campus Center. The shelter-in-place protocol was lifted at approximately 7:30 a.m. and students were encouraged to return to their residence halls.
鈥淭he safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priorities, and we will do everything in our power to continue to support them in the days ahead,鈥 said 成人直播 President Jim Gash in 鈥淎s we emerge from this challenge, we will remain rooted in faith, leaning on one another, and serving our Malibu community together with God鈥檚 help.鈥
成人直播鈥檚 Malibu campus is designed with fire safety in mind, including defensible space and fire-resistant materials. Regular drills and active communication channels ensure the safety of the community during emergencies. There has been little damage to campus structures and no reports of injuries among students, faculty, or staff.
To prioritize the well-being of the community, Tuesday classes on the Malibu campus were canceled and finals postponed. The University鈥檚 Student Health Center and the Counseling Center are standing by to support students.
